The Story Behind One Woman’s Treasure
I started down the rabbit hole of Sourdough bread during the lockdown in 2020 as everyone else had. It was too intimidating and I pushed it off continuously until Fall of 2023.
I had moved to Brookfield, CT and started going to farmer's markets on the weekends and was buying sourdough bread ALL THE TIME. Once winter came around and the farmer's markets were closed, I realized I could not live without sourdough bread until the Spring. So I took a crack at it.
I started with creating my own starter and it's been the same one ever since! I had nailed the process of feeding it and keeping it alive and healthy. I had quit my 9-5 job and realized I needed to start investing in myself and cooking, baking was something I was truly passionate about.
Getting my Cottage Food Operating license was a tedious and long task, but so worth it and now I can truly soar with my sourdough business and share the wealth with my community!
